Binance.US is removing AMPs, which were previously listed as securities by the SEC
According to CoinDesk, on August 2nd, after the SEC recently accused AMP of being a security in an insider trading case against a former Coinbase employee and two colleagues, Binance.US decided to remove the AMP Token "out of an abundance of caution."
In addition, Binance.US said AMP trading may resume on its platform in the future, but noted that "we will take relevant steps until the classification surrounding AMP becomes clearer."
BlockBeats previously reported that on July 22, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had listed nine cryptocurrencies on Coinbase as securities. It was included in a complaint that arrested and charged a former Coinbase employee and two others with wire fraud. The nine cryptocurrencies are AMP, RLY, DDX, XYO, RGT, LCX, POWR, DFX and KROM, each of which has been mentioned in connection with alleged insider trading.
