BlockBeats news, November 4: Binance released Security Incident Recovery Progress Update #7, stating that user funds were safe in this incident, and all stolen funds losses will be borne by Binance. Currently, approximately 98% of the affected assets have been backfilled. Binance has reserved more than 100% of the total required assets from its own funds and will continue to purchase the remaining 2% of tokens through market and over-the-counter trading channels. Due to the low liquidity of some remaining tokens, the backfill work may take some time.
In addition, Binance completed a new round of Proof of Reserves snapshot at 08:00 (Beijing time) on November 4, expanding the number of covered tokens from 10 in the previous round to 44. The full zero-knowledge proof is expected to take 50 to 60 hours to generate, at which point users holding relevant tokens can independently verify whether their account balances receive at least 1:1 reserve support. Binance stated that it will continue to advance the backfill of remaining assets, restore withdrawal services, and strengthen security protections.
