Societe Generale Accepts $10 Million in Tokenized US Treasuries as Collateral on Canton Network

BlockBeats news, November 4 - Societe Generale announced that its prime brokerage and clearing division has completed a transaction on the Canton Network, accepting $10 million in tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds as eligible collateral. The assets were generated through a pilot run of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)'s tokenization service, have been transferred on-chain, and have been integrated into the bank's existing back-office and collateral management systems.

Societe Generale plans to gradually support routine collateral transfers, evaluate more eligible tokenized securities, and explore on-chain financing solutions including agency repo and proprietary repo, with such progress still subject to internal approvals and regulatory requirements.
