Democrats flip 5 Senate seats, essentially securing a sweeping victory in both chambers ahead of schedule.

BlockBeats is comprehensively tracking and reporting on the US midterm elections, and has added a "Midterm Elections" column page to its official website homepage, featuring the latest real-time updates.

On November 4, according to CNN data, Democrats secured 50 seats in the Senate elections while Republicans won only 37, with Democrats achieving a net gain of 5 seats. Based on prior estimates, Democrats needed to flip 4 seats to reclaim the Senate majority.

In this Senate election, the 5 flipped seats are Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the most "upset" Texas. CNN predicts that Democratic candidate Adam Hamilton will also defeat Republican Senator Roger Marshall in Kansas.

In the House elections, 234 seats have been decided so far, with Democrats winning 141 seats (flipping 9 seats) and Republicans winning only 93 seats.

Election forecasting agency Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) has predicted that Democrats will win control of the US House of Representatives, reclaiming the House majority after four years as the minority party, ushering the US into a new era of divided government.
