BlockBeats news, November 4th: SlowMist founder Yu Xian stated in a post that the theft process disclosed by Binance was an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attack, which cannot be understood merely as an engineer's operational error or excessive permissions. He pointed out that such attacks may chain together multiple stages including intelligence reconnaissance, social engineering, malicious code detection evasion, trust chain exploitation, lateral poisoning, cloud environment penetration, and risk control bypass, and may also involve the exploitation of zero-day vulnerabilities.
Yu Xian reminded that individuals and enterprises should use this opportunity to check whether themselves, colleagues, and employees are vulnerable to similar poisoning attacks and strengthen protection. The initial social engineering is only one link in the attack chain; seemingly simple tactics can also cause serious consequences in specific environments.
