Institution: If Democrats sweep both chambers of Congress, the dollar faces short-term downside risk.

BlockBeats news, November 3 - ING Bank believes that if the Democratic Party wins control of both the House and Senate in Tuesday's U.S. midterm elections, the dollar may weaken in the short term.

"If the Democrats take both chambers, the dollar could face some short-term pressure," strategists including Francesco Pesole said in a report. "The market has fully priced in the expectation that Republicans will lose control of the House, but only partially priced in a scenario where Democrats sweep both chambers."
