BlockBeats news, November 2 - According to the New York Post, U.S. President Trump said in an interview with the newspaper's podcast Pod Force One that if the Democratic Party takes control of Congress after the midterm elections and launches investigations or prosecutions against Musk and other people around him, "we will have to protect these people." When asked about Democratic claims such as arresting Musk, Trump said "that won't happen, it's just talk," but "if it really happens, we will protect them."
Trump also said he would be willing, if necessary, to follow Biden's example and issue preventive pardons to everyone who has worked for him, "I did that for the January 6 incident."
Separately, according to market news, Trump said he does not think Musk's warning about a Democratic "sweep" is wrong. Musk posted on X on October 30 that if the Democratic Party wins the House, Senate, and presidency in 2028, it may push for statehood for Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico to expand its Senate advantage. Previously, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich called on the Democratic Party to "lay the groundwork" for nationalizing SpaceX. Trump also publicly defended Musk on October 23, saying Musk "will never do anything wrong."
