The incident occurred from last night to the early hours of this morning. The attacker, using an address funded via Tornado Cash and exploiting the EIP-7702 delegation mechanism (suspected to have obtained signatures from Binance hot wallet private keys), transferred assets on a large scale from multiple Binance hot wallets (including Binance 14, Binance 16, Hot Wallet 34, etc.) to newly created addresses within a short period. Tether subsequently froze over 1.567 billion USDT, Circle froze approximately 823 million USDC, and combined with other stablecoin freezes totaling approximately $2.4-2.6 billion. However, some non-stablecoin assets such as ETH have continued to be moved, and the attack is still evolving.
