'Earnings Preview' Options and on-chain pricing are highly volatile; what to watch ahead of this week's six major tests?
BlockBeats news, October 28 — The remaining six key earnings reports this week will test whether AI investments can translate into profits and cash flow, and whether the profit growth driven by memory price increases can be sustained. Ahead of the earnings releases, analyst forecasts, options pricing, and on-chain positions have already shown divergent signals: some targets have seen price target cuts while earnings consensus has not yet shifted in tandem; some cloud providers show divergence in next-quarter profit expectations; and some stocks have seen short interest decline yet still face notable valuation disputes.
Before the earnings are out, on-chain funds have already taken positions. According to TradingBeats monitoring, the total open interest (OI) in notional terms across six contracts on Hyperliquid — Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Samsung, SanDisk, and Intel — is approximately $437 million. Compared with yesterday morning, Google's position size increased by about 12.83%, SanDisk decreased by about 12.00%, and Intel decreased by about 6.13%.
At the same time, large accounts are making significant position adjustments among different tech stocks. Do these changes reflect directional bets ahead of earnings, or are funds reducing risk in advance?
