BlockBeats news, October 26 — Anthropic has officially embarked on the path to going public, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the company's IPO. The company, founded just five years ago and at the core of the generative AI wave, is expected to set a historic record with this IPO.
In a filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Anthropic disclosed plans to list on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "ANT." The company behind the Claude large model had already submitted a confidential draft registration statement to the SEC in June, allowing regulators to review financial materials first before making them public to the public and potential investors.
In the prospectus, the company disclosed first-half revenue of $16.3 billion, compared with $1.2 billion in the same period last year; a net loss of $80.7 billion; the company expects it may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future; and it will not pay any dividends for the foreseeable future. Under an agreement with SpaceX AI, it has agreed to cumulative spending of up to $120.5 billion through 2029. For the nine months ended September 30, no single customer accounted for more than 10% of the company's revenue.
Anthropic's pre-market contract briefly rose more than 4% before pulling back, now at $1,864.43.
