AI stocks recently sold off, and Anthropic's $2 trillion IPO may face pressure to delay.

BlockBeats news, October 24: Anthropic plans to launch its IPO in mid-November, targeting a valuation of up to $2 trillion, but recent sell-offs in the AI sector and a narrowing listing window have cast uncertainty over its IPO plans. Under U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules, a company must publicly file its S-1 registration statement at least 15 days before starting its roadshow. To complete a listing by late November, Anthropic would need to file the relevant documents no later than next week.

Recently, AI-related assets have come under pressure, with CoreWeave shares down about 30% in two weeks and Micron down about 17% over the past month, as market concerns grow over the sustainability of AI capital expenditure and financing capacity. Some market participants believe Anthropic may delay its listing to wait for a more favorable market environment; however, some analysts note that the company's urgent need for funds for computing power investment and potentially harder access to private financing may push it to continue with the IPO.

Prediction markets currently assign about an 80% probability that Anthropic will list within the year.
