Hunan police in China busted a den that used malicious links to steal virtual currency, with 3 people criminally detained.

BlockBeats news, October 23: The Qing Shanqiao Police Station of the Xiangtan County Public Security Bureau in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, China, recently traveled to Loudi with the support of the county bureau and successfully dismantled a fraud-related hideout that used malicious links to steal virtual currency, arresting 3 criminal suspects.

Investigation revealed that on September 4, a local resident surnamed Cao reported that after clicking an unfamiliar link in a virtual currency QQ group, USDT worth 6,814 yuan in his account was stolen. Since August, three people—Zhou, Chen, and Liang—in order to seek illegal profits, obtained malicious virus links through the "Telegram" app, specifically searched for virtual currency discussion groups in QQ and WeChat, sent malicious links within the groups, and took the opportunity to steal virtual currency from the accounts of those who clicked in order to profit.

At present, all 3 suspects have been criminally detained in accordance with the law on suspicion of theft, and the case is under further handling. (Xiangtan Public Security Online)
