BlockBeats news, October 22, according to GitHub information, a core protocol draft named "Decoupled Consensus" has appeared in the Ethereum EIP repository, proposing to separate the beacon chain's head vote from the finality proof vote to enhance fork choice security, shorten finality time, and lay the foundation for subsequent transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQ).
The proposal was co-authored by Francesco D'Amato, Roberto Saltini, Yann Vonlanthen, Mikhail Kalinin, and Ben Edgington, among others. It is currently still in the early draft stage, with multiple details yet to be determined. At this stage, the submitter primarily hopes to obtain an EIP number. The proposal is still pending further review and has not yet been merged.
