BlockBeats news, October 19 - U.S. Ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder warned that if the EU advances plans to restrict access for U.S. competitors like SpaceX to certain European markets, European companies will face "devastating" retaliation from Washington. Previously, the European Commission proposed reserving some spectrum resources for direct smartphone-to-satellite connectivity for European local enterprises. This move would limit the frequencies available to SpaceX (operator of the Starlink network) and some Chinese companies.
Puzder stated that given the massive size of the U.S. market, European companies "should be wary of such a situation occurring; it would be devastating for them. You cannot make European companies more competitive by weakening the competitiveness of American companies."
