BlockBeats news, October 18 - Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and Morgan Stanley highlighted tokenization as a business growth opportunity during their Q3 earnings calls, but none provided related revenue forecasts. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon stated that tokenization, DeFi, and prediction markets could bring more products, trading activities, new clients, and distribution channels. Goldman Sachs is exploring expanding its use of DTCC's tokenization services to reduce costs, automate trading, and enhance asset trading convenience, but the related business scale remains small.
Wells Fargo has used tokenized deposits for cross-border payments, with funds reaching recipient accounts within two minutes, though transaction volumes are currently low. The bank's CFO Michael Santomassimo said this technology could help Wells Fargo expand its cross-border payment business without building a large international branch network. The bank is also exploring tokenized securities, RWA, and crypto trading services for wealth management clients, but has not announced launch timelines.
Morgan Stanley CFO Sharon Yeshaya stated that tokenization can accelerate and simplify asset transfers, but clients still need investment advice. The bank views it as a new business opportunity and did not announce new products this time.
