NetEase UU Remote Opens Third-Party Access: Third-Party Apps Can One-Click Launch PC Remote Control

Beating AI News Flash: NetEase UU Remote has publicly released a third-party app integration protocol on GitHub, allowing developers to add a PC remote control entry point within their own iOS and Android applications. For example, an AI coding assistant could add a "Connect to Work Computer" button. When users tap it for the first time, they will be redirected to UU Remote to select and bind their Windows or Mac computer. Subsequent taps on the button will directly initiate remote control without the need to repeatedly search for the device.

Remote control supports both full-screen and picture-in-picture modes. Users can operate their computer through UU Remote's floating mini-window while simultaneously using other apps on their phone. For instance, when out and about, if they want to check whether Claude Code or Codex on their home Mac has completed its tasks, they can directly invoke remote control from a third-party application. Developers can also retrieve the connection result from the mini-window mode to determine whether the device is offline or if the connection has failed.

What has been opened this time is a cross-app invocation protocol, not the remote control engine source code or an interface for AI to automatically operate computers. Third-party applications still need to invoke the already-installed UU Remote client, and the actual remote control is handled by NetEase. Currently, controlled devices only support Windows and macOS, and the mobile end requires UU Remote version 4.42.0 or newer.
