Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI launches the new real-time voice model GPT-Live-1.1, along with a lightweight version, GPT-Live-1.1 Quip.
This update adds 13 new voices, covering languages including French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, and Mexican Spanish, and also introduces an English voice named Bubbie.
OpenAI says the new version improves multilingual accents, making voice conversations more natural. When AI searches for information, it no longer repeatedly uses fixed phrases such as "checking now," and it also hands off tasks to other models more smoothly.
GPT-Live-1.1 will become the default voice model for Plus and higher-tier subscribers, while other users will use Quip by default. The update is gradually rolling out to ChatGPT, Codex, and dots, and the API will be opened later.
