BlockBeats news, October 14: OneKey founder Yishi published a post discussing how to turn an iPhone into a cold wallet. He stated that being offline alone cannot defend against the physical extraction risks posed by forensic devices. The minimum security threshold should be an iPhone 17 or later model running iOS 27 or higher, with device migration required every 1 to 2 years.
Yishi stated that the Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE) technology introduced in the A19 chip can effectively enhance vulnerability defense capabilities, and that a device in the "Before First Unlock" (BFU) state after shutdown is more secure than the "After First Unlock" (AFU) state. Therefore, offline storage should involve a complete shutdown. At the same time, never keep seed phrases in Notes or Photos, and use at least a 12-character strong random password. For long-term storage of large assets, he still recommends prioritizing dedicated standalone hardware signing devices.
