South Korean semiconductor stocks rebound, with SK Hynix up 3.47% and Samsung Electronics up 3.66%.

BlockBeats news, October 14th, according to Bitget market data, the South Korean semiconductor stock market is recovering, with the KOSPI Composite Index now up 1.52%, SK Hynix up 3.47%, and Samsung Electronics up 3.66%.

Previously, the South Korean stock market had experienced five consecutive trading days of sell-offs, with semiconductor stocks particularly hard hit. Market concerns initially stemmed from China's rising competitiveness. ChangXin Memory Technologies recently disclosed that it had made key progress on a memory chip architecture that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are also pursuing. Although the technological breakthrough is still far from forming large-scale, commercialized competitive production capacity, funds have begun to reassess the impact of Chinese memory manufacturers catching up on the future pricing power and valuation premiums of South Korea's two leading companies.

Marginal changes in the AI investment logic have also amplified the decline. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said that demand for computing infrastructure still exceeds the industry's current available supply, and the supply-demand gap may persist until 2029 or even 2030; as hardware bottlenecks such as chips, memory, and power gradually ease, access to capital may become the biggest constraint on AI expansion. Many AI investors do not clearly understand the business models they are betting on, yet set extreme expectations, ultimately making this round of investment "almost like being in a casino."
