AMD CEO: Memory chip supply remains tight, with supply set to increase significantly in 2027.

BlockBeats news, October 6 — AMD (AMD.O) CEO Lisa Su said on Tuesday that the overall CPU market will grow substantially in 2026. Although AMD has already increased supply and capacity in tandem, "demand still exceeds supply," and memory chip supply remains persistently tight. The company will continue to expand supply and said it will significantly increase shipments in 2027.

AMD's capacity planning cycle with its supply chain has been further extended from one to two years in the past to three to five years. Lisa Su said she had already met with partners including Acer, Asus, Foxconn, and Quanta today and held positive discussions, and will meet with TSMC in the afternoon. Lisa Su also stated that artificial intelligence benefits the world and will not harm humanity; collaboration among leading U.S. AI companies is very important. She said there is still a lot of work to do on safe innovation, and that the U.S. "Superintelligence Task Force" is "an important step forward."
