U.S. stocks closed with optical communications leading the gains, while semiconductors and storage also strengthened, with LITE and AMAT both rising over 5%.

BlockBeats news, September 30, according to BIT(bit.com) market data, U.S. stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Dow down 0.26%, the S&P 500 down 0.17%, and the Nasdaq down 0.09%.


Optical communication concept stocks led the gains, with Lumentum (LITE) up 5.66%, Corning (GLW) up 4.70%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) up 4.51%, Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) up 3.98%, and Coherent (COHR) up 3.46%.


Semiconductor stocks mostly rose. Applied Materials (AMAT) gained 5.19%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) rose 4.51%, KLA Corporation (KLAC) climbed 3.89%, Arm (ARM) advanced 3.65%, and ASML (ASML) increased 3.56%.


Memory stocks were mostly higher. SK Hynix (SKHY) rose 2.62%, Micron Technology (MU) gained 1.05%, SanDisk (SNDK) added 0.99%, and Western Digital (WDC) edged up 0.06%; Seagate Technology (STX) fell 0.88%.
