U.S. stocks closed with semiconductor, memory, optical communication, and Neocloud shares all declining, with ARM and CRDO both falling more than 8%.

BlockBeats news, September 29 — According to BIT (bit.com) market data, the three major U.S. stock indices closed collectively lower on Monday (September 28), with the Dow falling 0.67%, the S&P 500 dropping 0.77%, and the Nasdaq declining 0.92%.


Semiconductor stocks fell more than they rose. Arm (ARM) dropped 8.70%, Qualcomm (QCOM) fell 7.17%, Intel (INTC) declined 5.67%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) dropped 3.83%, and AMD fell 3.61%, while Nvidia (NVDA) rose 1.68%.


The storage sector mostly declined. SK Hynix (SKHY) fell 5.03%, SanDisk (SNDK) dropped 3.65%, Micron Technology (MU) declined 2.62%, and Western Digital (WDC) fell 0.78%.


Optical communication concept stocks fell across the board. Credo (CRDO) dropped 8.67%, Coherent (COHR) fell 4.52%, Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) declined 4.52%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) dropped 3.83%, and Astera Labs (ALAB) fell 3.65%.


Neocloud concept stocks declined across the board. Applied Digital (APLD) fell 6.55%, Cipher Digital (CIFR) dropped 5.58%, IREN declined 5.45%, Core Scientific (CORZ) fell 4.73%, and Galaxy Digital (GLXY) dropped 4.25%.
