BlockBeats news, September 25: Xie Jiayin, head of Bitget's Chinese-speaking region, stated in a post that the security team has precisely identified the hacker attack path and methods for this incident, and has grasped details of how the attackers bypassed security protections. They are now very close to tracing the source of the attack. Third-party security teams Mandiant and SlowMist are still conducting the incident investigation, and a detailed report will be issued once the security team completes it.
Xie Jiayin stated that on-chain tracking has confirmed that approximately $387.5 million in assets were transferred to hacker addresses, an increase from the previous estimate of $351.6 million. The revised data includes ZEC and TRX, and no other unauthorized asset transfers have been found so far.
The funds stolen at the platform level in this incident will be fully covered by the Bitget User Protection Fund, and user assets will not suffer losses. In addition, Bitget has officially launched a fund recovery bounty program, offering a 5% bounty to any participant who proactively freezes or recovers the attacker's funds.
