BlockBeats news, September 25: SomaXBT, a contributor to the crypto nonprofit Security Alliance, posted that Circle has frozen 100,000 USDC in an address associated with stolen Bitget funds, which also holds approximately 218,000 USDT. The community subsequently called on Tether to follow up with a freezing procedure.
According to its previous disclosure, the address is a "three-hop" associated address of Bitget's initial stolen address and had remained for over 2.5 hours without any transfer after being discovered. Crypto KOL tanuki42 at the time initiated a "Circle vs Tether" tracking and asked which of the two companies would freeze the related assets first.
Currently, Circle has taken the lead in freezing the USDC in the address, and whether the remaining approximately 218,000 USDT will be frozen by Tether remains to be seen.
