BlockBeats news, September 25: Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou posted on social media that the Bybit team is ready to assist in various ways with the recent Bitget attack incident. When Bybit suffered a hack, Bitget provided support. Bybit is updating information on its bounty website LazarusBounty to help Bitget track and identify the flow of stolen funds.
BlockBeats previously reported that on February 21, 2025, Bybit suffered what was then the largest hack in crypto history (approximately $1.46 billion–$1.5 billion in Ethereum stolen, later attributed to North Korea's Lazarus group). After the attack, Bitget quickly transferred 40,000 ETH (then worth about $105 million–$106 million) to Bybit, with funds coming from Bitget's own reserves, not user assets. This support was an interest-free, uncollateralized loan with no fixed repayment term, aimed at helping Bybit cope with a withdrawal run and replenish liquidity.
