BlockBeats news, September 24: IBM announced that it has connected its digital asset management platform, Digital Asset Haven, to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger through a new ISO 20022 message adapter, allowing financial institutions to use standard payment message instructions for tokenized deposit transactions.
IBM stated that financial institutions participating in the Swift project have used Digital Asset Haven to test tokenized deposits. The Swift shared ledger supports bank-issued tokenized deposits and allows participating institutions to achieve 24/7 digital asset transfers and final settlement.
In addition, IBM has launched a beta version of an on-premises deployment of Digital Asset Haven, which can run on IBM Z and LinuxONE, enabling clients to manage digital assets such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits without relying on public cloud infrastructure. The key management layer of this version runs entirely within the client's own environment, with key protection provided by IBM Crypto Express hardware security modules.
Swift first unveiled the blockchain shared ledger at the Sibos 2025 conference. More than 40 financial institutions have participated in its design, and 17 institutions have taken part in tokenized deposit pilots.
