Tencent QClaw Announces Shutdown: Only Half a Year After Launch, Users Migrate to WorkBuddy

Beating AI News Flash: Tencent QClaw has announced it will officially cease operations on December 24. Starting today, new user registrations, subscription purchases, and renewals will be halted. Existing users can continue to use the service, and unused paid subscriptions and credit packs can be refunded upon application. After the service shutdown in December, only data backup and migration will be retained, and starting March 24, 2027, user data will be deleted except where legally required to be retained.

QClaw is a local AI Agent built by Tencent PC Manager team based on OpenClaw, and only began beta testing on March 10 this year. It focuses on directly commanding computers via WeChat to process files and execute tasks remotely. In April, Tencent also pushed QClaw overseas; at the Tencent Cloud AI conference in June, QClaw and WorkBuddy were still promoted simultaneously as two independent personal efficiency Agents.

The change occurred in July. Tencent merged the business related to the QClaw product center and some teams into Cloud Product Department Six, to which WorkBuddy belongs. The internal notice at the time still stated that "the QClaw product will continue to operate." Two months later, QClaw announced its service shutdown.

Tencent has already added a "Migrate to WorkBuddy" entry on the QClaw official website. Users can migrate their configurations, memory, Agent persona, and conversation records. Completing a valid migration will also earn 1000 credits.
