X sues two Bitcoin bloggers: Allegedly manipulated a bot network to defraud $278,000 in creator payouts.

BlockBeats news, September 22: X platform has filed a lawsuit with the UK High Court against Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and other unnamed individuals, accusing them of operating a coordinated bot network to manipulate engagement data and defraud X's creator revenue-sharing program of at least £207,400 (approximately $278,000).

X claims that the defendants operated 6 main accounts and at least 3 auxiliary accounts, long-term publishing highly similar Bitcoin content and creating fake engagement through mutual likes and reposts between accounts. Some accounts linked to Stripe accounts were also accused of using names and bank accounts that did not match the actual operators to conceal the source of funds.

X stated that the network participated in the creator revenue-sharing program from 2023 to 2026, which distributed advertising revenue based on engagement data such as likes, replies, and reposts, and was officially shut down on September 7 and replaced by Original Content Rewards, which explicitly excludes "artificially generated" fake engagement.

X suspended the 9 involved accounts on August 18 and demanded that the defendants return at least $278,000, while also seeking investigation costs, damages, interest, and legal fees. As of September 21, no defendants have filed a defense in the case.
