OpenAI develops AI agent features to compete with Grok Bot and Meta's personal AI assistant.

BlockBeats news, September 21: As competitors such as SpaceX and Meta launch personal AI agents capable of handling multi-step tasks, OpenAI is under pressure to catch up.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that OpenAI is developing new features to compete more directly with SpaceX's recently launched Grok Bot. The product is designed to help users create always-on AI "assistant teams" that can handle daily tasks, manage software, and collaborate in the background.

Another source said OpenAI is also discussing developing a personal AI assistant to respond to Meta's recently launched similar product. In developing related products, OpenAI may repackage and rebrand its existing "agent" technology, including features already applied in Codex and ChatGPT.

Currently, some OpenAI app users have already connected it to email, calendars, and other applications to automate tasks such as scheduling meetings and communicating with enterprises via email, with some tasks even able to continue for days. (The Information)
