Federal Representative Faces Ethics Complaint Allegations, 19% Chance of Withdrawing Before Midterm Elections

According to PolyBeats monitoring, Lauren Boebert is a Republican federal congresswoman currently representing Colorado's 4th Congressional District and is running for re-election.

On September 17, complainant David Wheeler accused Boebert of having inappropriate sexual relationships with three current or former congressional staffers. Among them, the complaint focuses on Boebert's former district director Navarro and claims that Boebert arranged a payment of about $200,000 to stop Navarro from filing his own ethics complaint.

Prediction market Polymarket soon afterward launched a new market, "Will Lauren Boebert drop out of the Colorado 4th Congressional District congressional race?" The current probability of "Yes" is 19%.

Boebert herself denied having had inappropriate relationships with any staffers, and her spokesperson called the claims "completely false," describing them as a political action aimed at manipulating the ethics process and generating headlines and clicks. Navarro, who was named in the complaint, also publicly denied the allegations, calling them "completely false, defamatory, and utterly absurd."
