AI data center developer Crusoe completes $3.9 billion funding round at a valuation approaching $31 billion

BlockBeats news, September 17: AI data center developer Crusoe has completed a $3.9 billion funding round, with a valuation approaching $31 billion. The company, previously known for building the large data center complex in Abilene, Texas, used by OpenAI, is now making a major push into small data centers that can be manufactured in its own factories, loaded onto flatbed trucks, and deployed wherever available power can be found.

Small data centers are faster and cheaper than relying entirely on large construction projects. As large data center projects across the United States face rising costs and delays, Crusoe believes that the factory-prefabricated, truck-transported, and locally deployed model can significantly shorten delivery timelines.
