Beating AI News Flash: Second Enlightenment, an AI startup founded by Xue Tianlu, has launched a personal Agent assistant called Rene. It runs directly within iMessage, allowing users to get things done just by texting as if sending a message. Rene can use a browser, handle emails and calendars, and also shop, write code, build websites, create presentations and images.
Rene focuses on "multi-person collaboration." It can join group chats and also communicate directly with friends' Renes. For example, when arranging a meal, both parties' Renes can separately check their calendars, automatically find a time when both are free, and then hand it over to their respective users for confirmation. What originally required several people to go back and forth discussing can first be coordinated by Rene in the background.
Xue Tianlu previously worked on products at Xiaohongshu and ByteDance. He says he has already used Rene for four months, having it find office space, prepare meetings, and also gather the team's opinions on dinner.
Rene also remembers past information and proactively reminds and follows up.
