Warsh: Inflation trend fails the test, Fed decides to 'remove some accommodation'

BlockBeats news, September 17: Federal Reserve Chairman Warsh stated that data from the past 7 weeks indicate the U.S. economy has strengthened, but the inflation trend has failed to pass the test, and the FOMC believes there are still few factors currently changing the inflation trajectory.

Warsh said today's policy decision was firmly and unanimously approved, and the Federal Reserve decided to remove some of its previous easing measures. He stated that it is difficult for his FOMC colleagues to describe current financial conditions as restrictive, and that the neutral rate will not have a practical operational impact on specific policy decisions.

Regarding Federal Reserve independence, Warsh stated, "Independence is a two-way street," and the Federal Reserve must adhere to its own scope of responsibilities. He also emphasized that he will not rely on a single data point for judgment, but rather focus more on the overall trend of economic data, as individual data points may contain noise.
