Beating AI News Flash: Volcano Engine's intelligent cloud drive ADrive will launch independently in September. ADrive is currently open for trial, with official documentation, product terms, and CLI all now available. The ByteDance technical team has also publicly introduced this product multiple times before.
ADrive provides both humans and Agents with the same file space. Files such as reports, code, and images generated by Agents can be stored directly in the cloud, ready to be picked up for the next task, or handed off to another Agent for continued processing.
Volcano Engine has previously demonstrated Codex, Doubao Work, and DeepSeek Harness working in relay around the same ADrive space. The official CLI also supports Agents uploading, downloading, and syncing files, as well as calling the cloud drive via MCP.
Tencent has also previewed a similar product. Tencent Cloud Drive currently still shows "Coming Soon" and has not yet been publicly opened, but the official website has clearly stated it will support Agents calling files via CLI and MCP, and sharing data with applications such as Tencent Docs and WorkBuddy.
