U.S. Senator Lummis: The current CLARITY Act is already the best compromise version, but Democrats are still demanding further modifications.

BlockBeats news, September 15: U.S. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis said that after Senate Republicans unveiled the final compromise version of the CLARITY Act over the weekend, Democrats are still demanding more changes. She said, "Democrats want more, they always want more. If we wait another month, they will ask for even more."

Lummis said Republicans have already made concessions to Democrats on 114 specific policies during negotiations, including legal protections for DeFi developers and restrictions on government officials' crypto business interests. She said Trump has agreed to further tightened ethics provisions in the new draft, which surprised her.

The Senate will hold a procedural vote on Tuesday, and the bill needs at least 60 votes to advance. Lummis said it is still uncertain whether enough support can be secured, and said the current version "is already the best result that can be achieved," and that she no longer has the ability to make another round of changes.
