BlockBeats news, September 13: Bitcoin Suisse plans to cut up to 60 positions in Switzerland, accounting for about half of its local workforce, and will move some software development and back-office work overseas. The company is headquartered in Zug, has about 200 employees globally, and currently custodies digital assets worth more than $3 billion.
The company will also close its Copenhagen IT development center, while retaining its Bratislava business center, and plans to establish a new center in Vietnam. CEO and co-founder Andrej Majcen said that related services operate at significantly lower costs in Bratislava and Vietnam, and that this adjustment stems from the company's international growth strategy and is unrelated to difficult crypto market conditions.
Bitcoin Suisse also plans to further expand from crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending businesses into wealth and asset management services for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Its Liechtenstein subsidiary received authorization under the EU MiCA framework in June.
