BlockBeats news, September 10, according to Bloomberg, prediction market platform Polymarket has appointed its first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Warren Jenson. As the company seeks a new round of investment and tries to rebuild growth momentum, this move is also seen as an important step in catching up with competitor Kalshi.
Jenson officially joined Polymarket this week. He previously held senior financial positions at media research company Nielsen and marketing technology company LiveRamp. Jenson, 69, has decades of financial management experience, while Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan is 28.
Bloomberg noted that Polymarket has recently fallen behind in competition with major rival Kalshi, so the company is seeking new investment and revitalizing its growth momentum. This appointment of its first CFO means Polymarket is further strengthening its financial management system and preparing for subsequent financing and business expansion. Previously, Polymarket had already secured large-scale financing. In early September, 1789 Capital, where Donald Trump Jr. serves as a partner, led its approximately $1 billion financing. After the transaction is completed, Polymarket's valuation will reach approximately $21 billion. It is worth noting that Polymarket has recently continued to expand its business layout and launched the social feature Squads on September 8, bringing group chat functionality into the prediction market.
