Nasdaq invests $100 million in Kraken's parent company, valuing it at $21 billion.

BlockBeats news, September 10, according to Bloomberg, Nasdaq's investment arm will invest $100 million in Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, valuing the latter at $21 billion.

This investment continues the partnership the two parties reached in March this year. As part of the collaboration, Kraken will offer users tokenized stocks of Nasdaq-listed companies, and users holding the relevant tokens will receive the same voting rights as ordinary shares.

Nasdaq is accelerating its push into stock tokenization and plans to launch its own stock tokens in the second quarter of 2027. The company applied to the U.S. SEC last year to amend relevant rules to allow tokenized trading of stocks on regulated trading venues, and received approval in March this year.

This investment also shows that the integration of Wall Street's traditional financial infrastructure with the crypto market is further accelerating.
