Suno finally uses licensed music, but v6 is slammed by users as worse than the old version.

Beating AI News: AI music platform Suno has released its next-generation model v6, including v6, v6-wild, and the free v6-mini, while retiring all previous models. v6 focuses on stability and controllability, while v6-wild is more random and experimental.

This also marks Suno's first collaboration with music companies such as Warner Music, BMG, and Believe to develop new models, beginning to use licensed music for training. Previously, Warner had sued Suno, and Believe had at one point banned the release of songs generated by Suno.

But the first wave of user feedback has not been good. Many longtime users complain that v6 sounds duller than v5 and v5.5, with muddier vocals and more homogenized songs, and some are even demanding the restoration of the old models.
