U.S. stocks opened with optical communications, storage, and semiconductor stocks gaining strength, with Arm and Nokia rising over 4%.

BlockBeats News, September 9 — According to BIT (bit.com) market data, the three major U.S. stock indices opened lower in tandem at the start of trading, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.70%, the S&P 500 down 0.29%, and the Nasdaq down 0.34%.


Optical communication concept stocks led the gains. Nokia (NOK) rose 4.11%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) gained 3.38%, Astera Labs (ALAB) climbed 2.98%, Coherent (COHR) advanced 2.92%, and Lumentum (LITE) increased 2.81%.


The storage sector saw broad gains. SK Hynix (SKHY) rose 3.36%, Western Digital (WDC) gained 1.55%, Seagate Technology (STX) edged up 0.44%, SanDisk (SNDK) added 0.43%, and Micron Technology (MU) rose 0.31%.


Semiconductor stocks extended their gains. Arm (ARM) surged 4.68%, Marvell Technology (MRVL) rose 3.38%, Qualcomm (QCOM) gained 2.86%, and AMD advanced 1.86%.


The Neocloud sector was mixed. Nebius (NBIS) rose 1.95%, Hut 8 (HUT) gained 1.17%, and Applied Digital (APLD) edged up 0.55%; meanwhile, Cipher Digital (CIFR) fell 1.76%, and Galaxy Digital (GLXY) dropped 1.11%.
