Hunter Biden's token launch dampens market sentiment, with a 84% win-rate account predicting BTC won't see a deep drop this month.

According to PolyBeats monitoring, the account "bitterfish" with an 84% win rate on Bitcoin placed $16.0k on "No" for the question "Will BTC drop below $75k this month?" with an average buy probability of 48.3%. The current probability of "Yes" stands at 60.5%.

The same account also put $15.8k into predicting BTC will not fall below $72.5k this month; if BTC only touches $75k, the lower-tier payout would offset most losses, leaving a net combined loss of approximately $4k.

bitterfish's $16.0k wager aligns with its best-performing sector, Bitcoin, where it has netted $78.7k in profits. In this sector, it has a 16/19 (84%) win rate across 19 settled trades, with 10 trades featuring buy prices below $0.8 and sell prices above $0.95. Within a similar cost-price range ($0.501-$0.55), its historical median stake is $100, making this wager 159.6 times that median.

The catalyst for the market sentiment shift is the planned launch of the Meme coin LAPTOP by Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden, today. Following the announcement, Kraken deleted promotional posts, and Channel 5 publicly distanced itself from the project. The market's concern isn't how much Bitcoin liquidity LAPTOP itself can drain, but rather that it reminds traders of the Trump coin precedent: political Meme coins generate FOMO at launch, then rapidly fade, dragging down broader risk appetite.

On the other side, MicroStrategy repurchased approximately $176.3m of its STRC preferred stock last week and raised the related buyback authorization to $2bn. The absence of new buying pressure weakens market expectations for marginal demand from MicroStrategy, but the company hasn't sold BTC and still holds roughly $6.5bn in dollar-denominated assets.
