3 New Gemini 3.8 Flash Accounts Predicted to Be Released Today

According to PolyBeats monitoring, on the prediction market Polymarket, 3 new accounts (makegood, 0xc091, 78yt8) have placed a $2,200 wager on "Will the next Gemini Flash model be released on September 2?" with an average buy-in probability of 73.1%. The current probability for "Yes" is 92.0%.

The Wall Street Journal today cited a Google employee report stating that Google DeepMind is planning to release Gemini 3.8 Flash this week, as early as Wednesday local time. The model, with the internal codename Skimaki, has undergone testing in Google's internal coding tool Jetski. Some engineers have rated it as a model better suited to internal programming tasks.

Google updated the Gemini API release notes on September 1, adding AI video comprehension capabilities to existing models like Gemini 3.7 Flash. These models can now autonomously parse video clips and selectively invoke frames, audio, and subtitles. Google claims this feature can reduce token usage by up to 88% when processing long videos.

As per the market rules, a version eligible for public release must become Google's core universal Flash model and be made available to the public under names like Gemini 3.8 Flash, Gemini 4 Flash, or other versions 3.8 and above. Internal Jetski testing and unreleased API numbers cannot independently constitute an official release.
