Dwatch Beating AI News Flash: Google has started rolling out Gemini 3.8 Flash to the Gemini App in a phased manner. When directly queried within the Gemini App, the current model has responded with "Gemini 3.8 Flash."

Last week, Business Insider obtained an internal screenshot. The Gemini 3.8 Flash Preview was spotted on Google's internal coding platform Jetski. A beta tester mentioned that it is noticeably better than 3.7 Flash.

The internal codename for 3.8 Flash is "skimaki." This release focuses mainly on addressing issues exposed in 3.7 Flash, while reducing templated, verbose "AI chatter."

Gemini 3.7 Flash was only released on August 13, less than three weeks before this new release.
