Google is set to release Gemini 3.8 Flash on Wednesday.

Perceive Beating AI News Flash, according to The Wall Street Journal reporter Erin Woo citing insider sources, Google's artificial intelligence research division is set to unveil the Gemini 3.8 Flash, a new model with significantly enhanced encoding capabilities. Internally codenamed "Skimaki," the model is expected to go live as early as Wednesday, September 2nd. In comparative tests with Google's in-house encoding tool Jetski, company engineers have shown a stronger preference for this new model over Anthropic's Opus.
