Middle East Situation Update: Escalation of Conflict, US Military Strikes Iranian Targets, Trump Vows to Completely Eradicate Iran

BlockBeats News, September 2nd. As the US-Iran conflict escalated, the US military began to target Iranian territory. President Trump warned of a more severe retaliation if Iran strikes back, while Iran simultaneously launched its counterattack. Here are the latest developments in the Middle East:

Conflict Overview

The US launched a new round of attacks against Iran. An important energy hub in Iran was targeted, and multiple locations along Iran's southern coast were bombed.
Trump stated that they are striking Iran and if Iran dares to retaliate, Iran will have little left.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard retaliated by shooting down a US MQ-9 drone. Explosions were reported in Erbil, Iraq. Jordan and Bahrain's US bases were also attacked.

Iran stated that they will respond multiple times and will heavily strike US military bases.

Iran threatened Bahrain and Kuwait, saying, "The gift is on its way."
Iran mentioned that the current situation does not allow a return to the memorandum of understanding signed with the US.
Trump reiterated that the agreement made with Iran is worthless, as Iran has been given many opportunities. If Iran makes another mistake, they will be completely obliterated.

Strait of Hormuz

The passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday remained relatively stable, maintaining a single-digit figure.

Two super tankers were struck by shells in the Strait of Hormuz.

US Treasury Secretary Benson: The Strait of Hormuz will achieve "alternative passage" within two years.

Iran mentioned that they will not allow the US to let vessels pass through the southern line of the Strait of Hormuz.

The US military has redirected 84 commercial ships, while 3 have been rendered inoperable.
