Morgan Stanley Upgrades Robinhood Rating: Market Underestimating Existing User Monetization Ability

BlockBeats News, September 1st, Morgan Stanley upgraded Robinhood from "Hold" to "Buy" and raised the target price from $124 to $150, implying a potential 43% upside from Monday's closing price. Analysts stated that the market is gradually realizing Robinhood's accelerated launch of new products and expanded addressable market, but the commercialization potential of its existing user base is still underestimated.

Morgan Stanley pointed out that Robinhood's approximately 28 million users form a critical growth foundation, with the market and other new businesses expected to increase per-user asset size, trading activity, and monetization capabilities. Specifically, the market segment is estimated to be less than 2 million users, yet it contributed $156 million in revenue in the second quarter and drove user adoption of other products.

Analysts also believe that Robinhood's derivatives trading platform and clearinghouse Rothera will further expand its distribution advantage, bringing infrastructure and third-party revenue opportunities.
