BlockBeats News, August 31st - The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iranian Armed Forces launched an attack on a US military base in Jordan in response to the US attack on Larack Island. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Iranian armed forces will not hesitate to exercise their inherent right to self-defense and will respond appropriately and resolutely to any military aggression by the enemy.
The US attack on part of Larack Island violated Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, blatantly contravened the United Nations Charter, and called on the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General to fulfill their responsibilities to maintain international peace and security and hold the aggressor accountable. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that the US and all parties supporting its military actions should bear full responsibility for the escalation of the situation.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs further stated that the US military base in Jordan was used to launch and support the attack on Larack Island. It condemned the US's new act of aggression, as well as the ongoing consequences of its maritime blockade and economic warfare against Iran, holding the US and all parties involved in the planning and execution of such actions fully responsible.
Earlier reports indicated that, according to the Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian military claimed to have launched dozens of drones at the UAE's Al Dhafra Air Base; and according to Iranian state television, the Iranian military stated that it had carried out a drone attack on the Al Dhafra Air Base earlier on Monday.
