Strait of Hormuz Shipping Volume Sees Slight Increase on Wednesday, While Bab el-Mandeb Shipping Volume Slows

BlockBeats News, August 27th, data shows that despite the ongoing geopolitical standoff between the United States and Iran, the shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has slightly rebounded.

Kpler data shows that on Wednesday, a total of 10 bulk commodity transport ships were tracked passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a slight increase from 8 ships on Tuesday but still below the around 15 ships' 10-day moving average level. Two medium-range product tankers, one liquefied petroleum gas carrier, one Panamax tanker, and three Handysize tankers entered the Strait of Hormuz from the Gulf of Oman. One medium-range product tanker, one asphalt tanker, and one bulk carrier exited the waterway from the Gulf side.

Meanwhile, shipping traffic in another key waterway, the Strait of Mandeb, slowed down for the second consecutive day. Kpler data shows that on Wednesday, a total of 19 bulk commodity transport ships passed through the Mandeb Strait, including 6 oil tankers exiting, one of which was a Very Large Crude Carrier. The total number of vessels passing through was lower than the previous day's 24 ships.
