Recently, Amazon raised prices on multiple hardware products, with the highest-selling entry-level Echo smart speaker increasing from $49.99 to $79.99, a jump of around 60%; and the 16GB base model e-reader rising from $109.99 to $149.99, a jump of around 36%.

Prior to Amazon, tech giants such as Apple, Microsoft, and Dell have also responded to the increase in storage costs by raising product prices and reducing hardware standard memory.
