SoftBank is considering issuing $20 billion in bonds to fund its investment in the OpenAI project

BlockBeats News, August 26th - According to Bloomberg, SoftBank Group is in talks with investment banks for a potential $10 billion to $20 billion bond issuance plan to raise funds to support its investment in OpenAI. The bond issuance may be denominated in USD and EUR, set to launch as early as September, but the discussions are still ongoing, and the specific size and terms may change.

Sources familiar with the matter stated that some of the proceeds from the issuance will be used to repay a $40 billion bridge loan SoftBank obtained earlier this year for investing in OpenAI. SoftBank plans to invest nearly $65 billion in OpenAI by October, with some of the funding coming from the loan.
